Welcome to the Blackness! We are a fairly old site that's getting a make over and we would love to have new members! We have no current plot but you are welcome to make small plots with other players! We DO NOT associate with Twilight. There are NO sparkling vampires allowed. History

Charlemagne: Charlemagne was founded by William Charlemagne, once a noble knight of the Duke of York, he was honored with riches, women and lands. The name, Charlemagne, was not known. It was not something to fear nor was it something to respect. Born to a merchant and a singer, his life had started out like any son of England. He went to school and church and was practiced in Latin and Catholism. His troubles only started to begin with his friends. He was getting in too deep in the royal conspiracies that dwelled around the young prince. Most of the conspiracies themselves came from the Duke of York himself. As he got deeper and deeper, he began to hunt out the vampire Covens within the area. Hearing of their aweful deeds of stealing women away in the middle of the night to feast or change. The Duke of York ordered them all executed and in a week's time, came across his first Coven. They were primitive. Not needing any food or water to survive besides blood, they lived in thatched houses that had long been abandoned, their clothes hung off of them in taters and even some didn't wear clothes. They were bloodstained and dirty and so pale that they seemed almost translucent. With a contingent of seventeen men, he rushed into their small camp and slain all but one. A small child who had hid in the shadows while his Coven was slain around him. Only when William descended his horse to look around, did the child pounce, latching onto his neck and successfully biting him before he was torn from William and decapitated.

Terrified that his aboination would be found out and he, too, would be destroyed, he hid his diease. He wore make-up to cover up his paleness. He kept himself neat and tidy and only feasted on cattle or sheep. Hardly ever taking a human for himself unless he could no longer control himself. Being half-dead, he needent have breathed so he was able to control the scent of blood that warfted around him. It was no easy task but soon, William found status. He bit more of his fellow men and brought them into his little world he had created. They began to modernise the other Covens, bringing them into their world, teaching them to act human more than wild beast. And soon, William formed his Coven from wild beast to sophisticated vampire and soon, his Coven was the one being Hunted.

His men who had not been turned became the first Hunters'. Dedicating their lives to slaying vampires and their primitive methods of eating. William held a stong Coven but he knew his regim would not last. He stopped a village girl not much older than fifteen on her way home and raped her, demanding she let the child within her live or he would turn her as well. He needed an heir. Someone who could live like him and leave the Coven at it's prime if he were to be caught.

He waited years, fighting the secret battle of Hunters' and Vampires for almost nineteen years. Almost losing hope, he revisited the teen he had raped and found that she had hid his child from him. It wasn't hard to find vampire blood and soon tracked his child. He was surprised to find that his son, was mortal. Not a drop of vampire in him. It was a simple deed but the words of two old crones came back to him, "One born mortal with vampire blood with arise when the moon turns blood red. He will unite four Covens beneath him and destroy the darkness that sleeps in the shadows." William knew his Coven was safe in the hands of his son, Nykolae.

Devali: Cyrus Devali was originated from one of the many primitive Covens in the mountains of Scotland. He was a meer child when he was bitten but soon learned maturity and life as an adult, even though his body was stuck at the age of seven. A born genius, he brought his genius with him into the undead realm of vampires and quickly became the Coven leader of a small band of vampires. Unlike the Charlemagne that lurked in the most southern end of England, they kept their complextion because they were naturally pale. The scotish mountains were cold and their pale complextion kept them warmer due to lack of direct sunlight.

The Devali Coven was larger than the Charlemagne Coven only because, being stuck in a seven year old's body, he was able to ensnare any pathetic mortal who pitied him. But, most of the vicitums he turned were rebels, refusing to subject themselves to listening to him because they hadn't wanted to be vampires in the first place; they felt as though they had been betrayed.

The Coven revolted, chasing young Cyrus down from the mountains and into the northern border of England before he was caught and destroyed, leaving the seat of the Devali Coven open for centuries.

Whittaker: The Whittaker Coven was run by Hayden Whittaker. Hayden had been like a brother to William. They had grown up together and even trained as knights together. When William was bitten, he confided in Hayden and they agreed to have Hayden bit too. Just like William, he kept it all a secret. He was began to have his own crowd of followers and soon, he approched William and asked if it was ok if he could have his own Coven. With the permission of William, Hayden took his most loyal followers and headed towards Wales where the inhabited a stately mansion unowned by any family. And soon, the Whittaker family was born.

They lived in peace; staying out of the way of the other two Covens. Charlemagne and Whittaker kept in touch but both ignored the growing Devali Coven. But the most unfortunite thing happened. Because they were so laid back and comfortable because they were peaceful, the Hunter's struck them first, the same band of knights that both Hayden and William had belonged to. The got most of the Coven before they were able to escape, back to Scotland to hide in the mountains. William sent out a few of his guard to protect Hayden until he could bring around his Coven again.

The first war between Charlemagne, Whittaker and Devali began almost a century later. It took a huge toll on Devali Coven mostly and they retreated as well to their hideout. Charlemagne and Whittaker gained some more estates from the Devali Coven and became stronger.

But, tragedy happened again. Once more, the Hunter's tracked down the Whittaker Coven and finally killed Hayden, leaving the Coven without a leader. But, not much later, Hayden's neice, Kyra Blaize, took over the Coven, the only vampire to step forward.

Essex: The last of the Coven's to come around was the Essex coven run by Lady Aurora Essex. Once a noble lady to the Queen of England turned into a cold hearted Coven leader. From the start, she rose up amoung ranks and picked out her own Coven, all ranging from the best breeds and the best skills. She was cold and merciless and often times watched two from her Coven battle it out to the death, their sons were awarded for their winning father. But the sons of the losing father would be viciously slaughtered. After the fall of Whittaker, she quickly allianced herself with the Devali Coven because she had fallen madly in love with Cyrus, even though he was in the body of a seven year old child. Keeping her manors and estates from her wealthy days as a noble lady, she was able to keep her Coven well protected and secret.

After the war, Charlemagne remained silent, hardly daring to make a move on the Devali Coven in fear that the Hunter's would be alerted by the movement. Lady Aurora grew in her strength and alliance, making her Coven twice as large as Charlemagne and still staying secret and unknown to the Hunter's.

When Lady Aurora grew pregnant with child, it was soon remored that the child was Cyrus's, the first full blooded child to be born. But, on the day it was to be born, the child died before it had had a chance to breath it's first breath. Or so it was said...

Seemingly unperturbed by the loss of her child, Lady Aurora went right back into Leading her Coven. But, she had grown careless when she pregnant. The Hunter's found out where she was located and sent out a secret mission and destroyed her where she slept. In the morning, the rest of her Coven found about the deed and has been leaderless for more centuries than they can count.

Culture

Charlemagne:
- Not strict eaters. Eat both animal and human.
- The first Coven to orignate and feel as though they have soverienty over the other Covens.
- Just about the only Coven who feel the need to fight the Hunter's while the others sit back and do nothing.
- Don't change innocent mortals unless there is a purpose.
- Are easily seduced by the calls of women and drink.
- Major partiers.

Devali:
- Feed soley on animals. NO HUMANS!!!
- Are less violent. Hardly fight unless they are directly involved.
- Lazy to a third degree
- Don't care about changing mortals. If you ask one, they won't hesitate and you don't have to be afraid that they'd kill you. They enjoy the taste of animals better than humans.

Whittaker:
- Eat both humans and animals
- Are completly loyal to the Charlemagne Coven and come to every beck and call.
- Will fight just as bravely and strong as the Charlemagne.
- More sophisticated
- Are able to walk among mortals and not be seduced by their tempting smell or their seduction.
- They hardly ever change mortals. They would rather take in loners and newcomers then change someone.

Essex:
- Cold and heartless.
- Will eat anything that walks more or less
- Their methods of changing are violent and medieval and their changess are left with horrible images of their change.
- Are lazy and careless
- When they are called to battle, they are feared on the battlefield because they don't have any certain method of killing. They would rather mutilate your body first.
