He rested his head on his steering wheel, a sigh escaping slightly parted lips where a hint of dried blood could be seen. His eyes were closed and his white blond hair fell into his face. He had failed to find the twins. It seemed as though Lance was winning. He had promised Nykolae that he would take them and he did. And he was hiding them good. Even the people he tortured couldn't tell him where they went. It was torture and what was even worse was that he had to tell Kyra who hadn't even gotten a chance to look at them.

He opened his door and stepped out. It was a cool summer morning and a light fog hovered above the grounds. Nykolae was wearing a sweatshirt today and a pair of jeans. He looked like an other average teenager except for a few things that seemed to stick out like a sore thumb. One, his car, that wasn't even on the market and cost more than a life's worth. Two, his clothes may look normal but they were defiantly designer. More than the average mortal worker could afford and three, his complexion was too pale and too transparent to be alive.

He moved to the front door and rang the bell. Whittaker coven had an abundance of members at it's disposal but unlike Essex when he had arrived, he was more than welcome here. He was hoping Kyra was still sleeping. She needed it.

He was let in by a more than hospital female vampire who had more ideas in mind then he cared to know and was quickly met by another vampire who was than willing to take him upstairs. When he mentioned he was here to only see Kyra, she pursed her lips and let him upstairs without another word. She stopped at a door down the hall and bowed to him before she left, giving him a backwards, obvious look which he ignored. He knocked softly on the door, hoping not to wake her.

He didn't know how to break it to her. Would she collapse in tears and he would have to hold her for awhile or would she march out of here and go on a search herself where he would have to stop her. either way, he figured he was going to be here awhile. He sighed. Marissa would no doubt wait for him. He nodded his head to the maid, dismissing her. He was sure Kyra didn't want her here when he told her. "I'm sorry, Kyra... They're gone..." he whispered, not able to meet her eyes. He felt like a failure. He had promised to bring them back to her and not only did he loose his children with her but he doomed the entire vampire race. All he wanted to do right now was run away and never be found again.

He was across the room as soon as he could and was crawling onto her bed with her, grabbing her hands and holding them in his own to keep her from doing something foolish. "There was nothing you could have done. Please, Kyra, don't blame yourself. I blame myself though, for letting you out of my site. I was foolish and reckless. I took Lance's threat like child's play. I never thought he would actually steal you away." He donned his sweatshirt to show a black button up shirt and turned up sleeves.

His eyes grew hard, hating. "I'm going to stage an attack." he told her. "I'm going to attack the Hunters' with a full on force and I want to bring all the Covens against him." he turned his golden honey eyes on her. "Will you lead Whittaker by my side like William and Hayden did so many years ago? Will you ally yourself with Charlemagne again to save the vampire race?"

He rose from the bed and walked over to her, lacing her up. Her scent reminded him of the night they had had together. Not that he could remember much of it but he remembered her scent. When he was done lacing, he took her hair in his hands, playing with it for a few moments before he moved it to the side, setting his nose to her neck where he kissed the soft spot tenderly, inhaling her scent. "We wouldn't have to go this minute..." he murmured, kissing all along her neck.

"Mhmm soon but not now..." he turned her around, putting both hands on her cheeks as he kissed her, slowly at first then working his way up to more passionate. He wanted to calm her down, let her troubles ease her mind for a moment so she could think straight. He knew she longed for him and what better way then this? "Let's wait awhile. Let our minds relax.." he whispered as he pulled away from her.
